Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical department is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals admitted for various medical and surgical conditions. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, collaborate with the healthcare team, and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patients' conditions and communicate any changes to the healthcare team.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
4. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
7. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of employment.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred.
3. BLS|ACLS|PALS|NRP certification required
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
7. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
